Garlic Twist

Attention garlic loving cooks!

The NexTrend Garlic Twist is not a new product, but it is new to me and one of my new favorite tools for mincing. Unlike the typical garlic press that takes two hands to squeeze and the tedious task of scraping out the pieces, the Garlic Twist fits in the palm of your hand and requires only a couple of back-and-forth twists of the wrist to use. Your minced food is simple to retrieve and the container is easy to clean.

Place a peeled clove of garlic in the bottom of the container, cover, and twist back and forth. Lift off the lid and your food is easy to spoon out.

It works with other items too. Harder foods such as small chunks of carrot or almonds take a little more effort but nuts like walnuts and pieces of onion, peppers, and ginger need little to no effort.

The Garlic Twist is manufactured by NexTrend and retails for under $20. I purchased mine at The Wooden Spoon, a kitchen shop in Chicago. If you can’t find one locally, it is available online from the manufacturer and Amazon.com.
